What is a Funduro
The Funduro is an event for everyone young to old, who loves riding their Mountain bikes, cruising up the hills and racing down. That’s right you are only timed on the “down” section. Timing will use Strava (hence Funduro), so you will need a smart phone with the Strava app. to compete in this event.
You will be provided with a map before the race and you select your own route to complete (in any order) the 6-7 ‘Race Stages’ within 4 hours. The race stages selected are a combination of flowing and technical Grade 3 and Grade 4 single track.
One of our major sponsors – Hot Cycles will also be there on the day with some Demo bikes that you can take for a spin.
There is a chance the forest will be closed before this race and if
this is the case you must not enter the forest at any time to practice.
The forest will only be open on race day – 8th December 2019. Entering
the forest when it is closed could compromise this event going a head.

After the event
At the finish line there will be beer from award winning Deep Creek Brewery (there will non alcoholic refreshments also) and pizza sponsored by TrailPro waiting for you. Prize giving will then follow with some great prizes from Hot Cycles.
Registration opens at 8:15am and closes at 9am. You need to sign in to get your map.
Race briefing starts at 9.15am
Race starts at 9:30am.
Race finishes at 1:30pm.
If the forest is still open:
At the container (top of Trig Road). You can either park at Rewa Road or Okororo Road. You will need to bike to the container, however there will be two shuttles going from 8am am to 8.30am, leaving from bottom of Trig Road – first in first serve. Please watch out for the shuttles if biking in – keep left.
If the forest has closed:
Rewa road gate by the see-saw. Parking on Rewa Road or by the beach.
An email will be sent around on the Friday prior to the race to update you all on the registration/start/finish locations.
Health and Safety
Normal rules apply, we have attached the clubs Health and Safety Rules for some light reading before the day.
It is $30 for members and $40 for non members if you pay on line.
On the day it is $40 for members and $50 for non members

On line registration and payment will close 11pm on Thursday 5th December.
If you are a non-member, your day pass is included in the price so you don’t need to purchase a separate day pass.
