It’s fantastic to have some seriously good riders who ride and train in the Maraetai forest over in Europe representing NZ.
Firstly Jessica Manchester has had a fantastic couple of months over there. Her results have been outstanding! She’s arrived back in the country jet lagged but still managed to race last weekend’s Nduro Events Winter Series on Sunday taking out 2nd overall in the long course and 1st junior women. Congratulations Jess – you’re a star and welcome back – though I guess after riding in 30+ degrees, this is a bit of a shock!
Meanwhile Josh Oxenham has had a cracker in Europe! 1st, 2nd and 3rd for kiwis at Les Gets Crankworx on the Air DH and another win at Crankworx in Innsbruck in the under 19 mens DH. Then onto Andorra on the weekend saw him finish 9th at the Vallnord World Cup.
With the van packed he is currently heading to Lenzerheide in Switzerland for next and his final race – world cup this weekend with the Mountain Bike Performance Hub Team.
Charlotte Rayner also competed at the World Cup in Vallnord on Sunday. Finishing 38th she had a few battles with riders on the track and
managed to make up some placings before the altitude affected her. She’s off to Lenzerheide in Switzerland for her last race this weekend.
Finally Blake Ross has landed in Europe and is focusing on the IXS Downhill Cups before he heads to Whistler for Crankworx in August. His first race is in Saalbuch Hinterglenm in Austria on 8th & 9th July.
Good luck to all the riders!
