Latest News
PCBC Teens Academy is back and we are holding an open day in Maraetai Forest at 10am on Sunday 11th October.
The PCBC Academy is for intermediate riders ages 10-18 and we will be meeting at Maraetai Forest on Tuesday nights 5-7pm, beginning 20th October.
Come along to our open day to register for the Academy, meet the coaches and get your bike and helmet checked. We will have a sausage sizzle and will be going for a group ride after the event. There will be shuttles also.
We will be set up at the entrance to the Eastern track. You will need to be a member of PCBC or have a day pass to attend. Looking forward to seeing you there!
Walkers/Runners
We are noticing an increasing number of walkers using the MTB tracks, in particular Ground Zero during peak times (Sunday morning). We have had a few near misses and lucky it hasn’t ended in tears yet. This track is fast and it would not end well if a mountain biker collided with a walker, especially if they are barreling down long drop. So please use the road or up tracks.
Funduro
It is coming up to that time of year again for our annual Funduro, so clear your schedule on 29th November 2020.
So what is a Funduro?
The Funduro is an event for everyone young to old, who loves riding their MTB, cruising up the hills and racing down. That’s right you are only timed on the “down” section.
You will be provided with a map before the race and you select your own route to complete (in any order) the 6-7 ‘Race Stages’ within 4 hours. The race stages selected are a combination of flowing and technical Grade 3 and Grade 4 single track. We will also have a King/Queen of the Mountain on our newest up track.
This year is going to be a little different and we will be ditching Strava and doing things proper, yes that is right proper timing – no more Strava f-ups missing your stage or adding 10 min on.
We are super stoked to announce that Mount Eden Cycles will be our major sponsor again – cash prizes for place getters and pizza…yippee.
Entries will be open soon….
If you would like to help out on the day by being a marshal please get in touch.
